Indoor Air Quality

The fall and winter fires season has begun. Even though wildland fires miles away do not pose an immediate threat to the community, they have the potential to effect air quality outdoors and indoors. Something to consider is; changing filters in AC units frequently and acquiring indoor air filter units to minimize wildland fire smoke from lingering inside the house or buildings.

Devastating wildland fires usually burn uncontrolled during high pressure systems when winds are moderate to extreme, these are sometimes referred to as offshore winds. When the high pressure systems end, the smoke from the wild land fires can be pushed towards cities and communities that were not directly impacted by fire.

The Coachella Valley tends to be subject to the smoke during the wind changing events.
